Steve is proud of the heritage of service and personal attention that is Walker Mortuary. Steve reminds his team "we never stop helping". The motto is a natural extension of his personality and the entire team has adopted the vision. Steve's Bachelor's Degree was obtained in Speech and Communications from Northern Illinois University in 1973. Upon graduation, Steve found a job in a Chicago funeral home. Once he experienced the feeling of helping someone through a trying time, he knew that the business was meant for him and he never looked back. Everyone that encounters Steve genuinely feels his dedication to reaching out to the community and providing services with dignity and respect.
Steve embraces the desire to be of service to others and this is evident in all aspects of the business. Finding ways to offer heartfelt support for families of the community and participating in organizations that make a difference in people's lives, Steve gladly volunteers his time to area organizations.
