Freeport- Betty Jane (Giesey) Janssen, 87 of Freeport died Wednesday February 3, 2010 at FHN Memorial Hospital. Born May 11, 1922 in Freeport she was the daughter of George and Vanetta (Kinzig) Giesey. She and Dale Janssen were married August 29, 1942. Betty worked for the Rawleigh Co., Micro Switch from 1957-1965 and then for Sanitary Laundry until her retirement in 1986. She was a past president for the Ladies of the Elks and was a member of the Sweet Adeline’s. She enjoyed collecting recipes.
She is survived by her husband Dale of Freeport; two children Julie Borovoy of Freeport, Terry (Cindy) Janssen of Indianapolis, IN; five grandchildren Tracy (Ron) Allred of Murray, KY, Christy Borovoy of Rockford, Shane Kays, Chianne Kays, Zachary Janssen all of Indianapolis, IN. and seven great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and one brother.

Funeral Information

Visitation will be 4pm until 7pm Friday at Walker Mortuary.
Funeral service will be Saturday 10:30 a.m. at Walker Mortuary with the Reverend John Hollis officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
