Odell Allen Klipping, 85, of Bradenton, Fl., died Thursday, September 2, 2010 at Tidwell Hospice House in Bradenton, Florida. He was born on May 24, 1925 to the late Clarence H. and Anna B. Smith Klipping in Freeport, Ill. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn E. and a brother Roger Lee Klipping. Odell and his late wife Evelyn kept a summer residence at Lake Okoboji, Iowa and a winter residence in Holmes Beach, Florida. He served in the U.S. Army as a sergeant during World War II. After the Army, he became the owner and manager of the Klipping Men’s Clothiers store in downtown Freeport for many years before retiring to Florida. He was known as “Klipp” to many of his friends.

He is survived by a cousin Diana D. Hubbard of Roaring Gap, North Carolina.

A memorial service will be held at the Chapel of Peace in Oakland Cemetery and Mausoleum in Freeport 11:00 a.m. Thursday September 16, 2010.
