Ethel E. Steffens

Lena: Ethel E. Steffens, 85, formerly of Freeport, died Monday August 23, 2010 at the Lena Living Center, Lena, IL. Born November 25, 1924 in Freeport she was the daughter of Michael and Natalie (Nelson) Powers. On March 27, 1945 she married Leland Steffens and he preceded her in death.

Ethel worked for the Newell Company for many years retiring in the mid 1980’s

She is survived by her Grandson, Eric Siegmeier of Lena; 4 Great Grandchildren, Devon Siegmeier of Rockford, Raven Siegmeier, Dillon Siegmeier and Samantha Siegmeier all of Dubuque, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 daughter, Judith Siegmeier and 3 brothers.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service and entombment of her cremated remains will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday August 31, 2010 at The Chapel of Peace in Oakland Cemetery and Mausoleum, Freeport. There will be no visitation.
