NORMA J LEID Rockford
Norma J. Leid, 84, of Rockford, formerly of Freeport, died Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at P.A. Peterson Home in Rockford.
Born September 17, 1925 in Freeport she was the daughter of Carl and Lora (Greier) Engle. She married John Brown July 26, 1942 and he died February 13, 1971. She married George M. Leid December 16, 1972 and he preceded her in death.
Norma worked at Micro Switch Company in Freeport for 25 years retiring in 1986. She also operated a hair salon from her home for many years.
Norma was a member of Sheppard of the Valley Lutheran Church in Rockford.
Surviving is her son, Jerry (Carol) Brown of West Palm Beach, Florida; 2 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; 2 step great grandchildren; and her step daughter in-law, Jean Leid of Freeport.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; 2 step sons; 1 brother; and 1 sister.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Memorial services will be Monday 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
