Edwin Webster

Edwin Webster, 76, of Freeport formerly of Rock City, died Thursday, July 29, 2010 at his home. Born December 20, 1933 he was the son of Kenneth O. and Florence M. (Gerdes) Webster. He was a 1951 graduate of Dakota High School and a U.S. Army Veteran. On December 3, 1955 he and Cynthia Keister were united in marriage, she preceded him in death in 2008. Edwin was a former member of Rock City United Methodist Church and currently a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Freeport. He was a NASCAR and automotive enthusiast and especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.
He is survived by two sons Steven (Tammy) Webster of Dakota, Alan (Reni) Webster of Rock Falls; 3 daughters Sally Kersten of Bullhead City, AZ, Barbara Jo (Drago) Zgrabljic of Huntley, Brenda (Jeff) Olsen of Davis; 9 grandchildren Stephanie, Curt , Brent , Kari Webster, Sean and Ryan Edwards, Karina Zgrabljic, Tyler and Autumn Olsen; five brothers Richard (Marlene) Webster of Davis, Carl (Shirley) Webster of Rockford, Charles (Judy) Webster of Freeport, James (Susan) Webster of Asheboro, NC, Clyde (Rita) Webster of Cherry Valley; five sisters Mabel (James) Gift of Freeport, Phyllis Vietmeyer of Daytona Beach FL, Betty (Richard) Brubaker of German Valley, Norma Jean Webster of Freeport and Wilma (Donald) Nath of Freeport.
Preceding him in death were his parents, wife, one brother Harold, two nephews Robert, Jeffery, sister-in-law Barbara Wirth Webster and brother-in-law Verlyn Vietmeyer.

Funeral Information

Visitation will be Wednesday August 4th from 9 am until the time of the funeral service at 11:00am at Faith United Methodist Church Freeport with Rev. John Wesley Lee and Rev. Brian LeBaron officiating.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Freeport.
