Freeport: Alice H. Brobst, 96, of Freeport, died Monday November 28, 2005 at FHN Memorial Hospital, Freeport. Born January 7, 1909 in Argyle, WI. She was the daughter of Oscar and Amelia (Erickson) Thompson. On January 21, 1936 she married Clarence R. Brobst and he preceded her in death on December 3, 1986. Alice worked at Crum and Forster Insurance Company for 39 ½ years retiring in 1974. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and the Martha's Circle of the Church she was also a member of the Freeport Eagles Auxiliary. Surviving is one Daughter, Charleene (Chris W.) Kubatzke of Freeport, one stepson Eugene (Eileen) Brobst of Los Angeles, Cal. One brother, Christian (Viola) Thompson of Argyle, WI. Four grandchildren, Chris M. (Val) Kubatzke and Craig (Wendy) Kubatzke both of Freeport, Charles (Karen Sue) Kubatzke of Charleston AR. and Crystal Freeman of Lavaca, AR. Two step grandchildren, five great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters and one great grandchild. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at First Lutheran Church, Freeport with the Reverend Neville Kretzmann and Chaplin Don Swanson officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Freeport. There will be no visitation. A memorial has been established in her name.
