Freeport-Alice L. Endress, 74, of Freeport, died Sunday, December 21, 2003, at her home.
Born May 15, 1929 in Montezuma, Indiana she was the daughter of Lorie and Violet (Steffey) Huffman. She married Lyle E. Endress September 22, 1951 and he died March 25, 1989.
She worked at Montgomery Ward, St. Francis Home for Exceptional Children for 10 years, Henry Discount Store, and the Fashion Bug.
An avid bowler she enjoyed her family and especially spending time with her great granddaughter, Skye.
Surviving is her daughter, Susan L. (Douglas) Schneiderman; one son, Dennis "Endo" (Betsy) Endress; one sister, Ruth (Milton) Klaas all of Freeport; one brother, Earl Meyer of Elizabeth; one step sister, Opal Croffoot of Pearl City; two grandchildren, Brandon (Laura) Endress and Thomas Endress both of Freeport; one great granddaughter, Skye Nichole Endress of Freeport; two sister-in-laws, Frances Morrow of Byron and Mary Downs of Lanark; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Walker Mortuary with Chaplain Don Swanson of FHN Memorial Hospital officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call Friday 4 to 8 p.m. at Walker Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in her name.
