Alice C Goodwin, 70, of Freeport, died Thursday, July 30, 2009, at FHN Memorial Hospital.
Born July 24, 1939 in Freeport she was the daughter of Roy and Vera (Rainbow) Becker.
Alice worked at Freeport Memorial Hospital as a nurse assistant; she then worked at Micro Switch for over 10 years, and then volunteered with activities for several of the nursing homes in the area.
She loved her grandchildren, great grandchildren and her 2 dogs, Daisy and Cujo.
Surviving are 3 daughters, Kathleen Krieger, Vicki Gentz, and Tracy (John) Kreeger all of Freeport; 8 grandchildren, Christopher Gentz, Nicholas (Michelle) Kreeger, John P. (Shawna) Kreeger, Amy Kreeger, Adam (April) Krieger, Aaron (Katie) Gentz, Emily Krieger, and Kourtney (Adam) Scudder; 8 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Joan (Dale) Schnulle of Leaf River and Judy (Jim) Herbig of Mesa, Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Cremation rights have been accorded.
There will be a gathering Tuesday 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Entombment of her remains will follow the gathering.
A luncheon will be held at the home of her daughter, Tracy, 3557 business 20 West following the Entombment.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in her name.
