Freeport-Alice R. Lamm, 80, of Freeport, died Friday, April 2, 2004, at the Lena Nursing Home in Lena.
Born January 7, 1924 in Freeport she was the daughter of William and Carrie (Oswalt) Wurtzel. She married Paul F. Lamm November 2, 1946 and he died July 6, 1993.
A graduate of Freeport Senior High School she worked in the lab at Micro Switch for ten years.
Her memberships include, life long member of St. John United Church of Christ where she taught Sunday school for many years and was a member of T.O.P.S., Stephenson County Home Extension, Prairie Land Doll Club, Stephenson County Antique Engine Society, and Ladies of the Elk.
Surviving is her son, Greg (Julie) Lamm of Loves Park; her daughter, Patty (Tim) Weik of Freeport; six grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one brother Frederick Wurtzel; and one sister, Dorothy Abel.
Funeral service will be Monday 10:30 a.m. at St. John United Church of Christ with Reverend Dr. Donnley Dutcher officiating. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery & Mausoleum.
Friends may call Sunday 4 to 7 p.m. at Walker Mortuary.
A memorial has been established for St. John United Church of Christ.
