FREEPORT- Alice Carol Miller Scheider, 84 of Cedarville passed away Saturday July 29, 2006 at Freeport Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
Born March 29, 1922 in Dakota she was the daughter of Samuel and Mary (Schradermeier) Miller. She was a graduate of Dakota High School and Freeport Deaconess School of Nursing. She also had additional training at the University Chicago Lying-in Hospital for Obstetrical training. On March 19, 1950 she and Duane Scheider were married. For 35 years she worked as a Registered Nurse at Freeport Memorial Hospital. Her memberships included Alumni Nursing Association, Stephenson County Home Extension, and United Methodist Women. She was a member of the Cedarville United Methodist Church for over 50yrs and was very active in all facets of the church as the church was a very important part of her life.
She is survived by her husband of Cedarville, two sons Joel (Bev) Scheider , Neal (Julie) Scheider both of Cedarville; one brother in law Karl Erickson; 2 sister in laws Dorothy Miller and Kathryn Scheider; one special cousin Dorothy Schlueter and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Kenneth and Chester Miller, one sister Arlene Erickson, one sister in infancy, a sister in law Fay Miller and her brother in law Rev. Norman Scheider
Friends may call 4-7:30 Tuesday at Walker Mortuary.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Cedarville United Methodist Church in Cedarville.
Burial will be in the Cedarville Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
