Alice D. Wichmann, 90, formerly of Crete, died Monday, March 24, 2008, at Manor Court in Freeport.
Born January 14, 1918 in Crete she was the daughter of Gottlieb and Ida (Piepenbrink) Diersen. She married Werner M. Wichmann June 29, 1941 and he died October 22, 2005 in Freeport.
Surviving are her sons, Allan (Jennifer) Wichmann of Charlotte, North Carolina, Gerald (Barbara) Wichmann of Raleigh, NC, James (Doris) Wichmann of Anaheim, CA, and John (Diane) Wichmann of Freeport; 15 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and 3 brothers.
Visitation will be Wednesday 6 to 7 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Funeral service will be Wednesday 7 P.M. at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Burial will be in the Trinity Church Cemetery in Crete, Illinois.
A memorial has been established for the Lutheran Women Missionary League.
