Allen Lee Craig, 79, of Ridott, died Friday, November 4, 2011, at his home.
Born February 28, 1932 in Harrison, Illinois he was the son of Kenneth B. and Florence P. (Swartz) Craig. He married Cora I. Murray October 26, 1952 and she died July 25, 1986. He then married Phyllis Jones August 7, 1987 in Freeport. After graduating from Dakota High School in 1950 he was in the United States Army, serving during the Korean Conflict where he received two Purple Hearts.
Allen was a welder working for Beloit Pipe and Dredge and then Northern Pipeline retiring in October of 1993.
Surviving are his mother of Ridott, his wife Phyllis of Ridott;1 daughter, Kathy Craig of Frankfort, Kentucky; 1 son, Thomas (Monica) Craig of Raleigh, NC; 3 stepsons, John (LaDonna) Morson of Vicksburg, MS, Mark (Brenda) Morson of Durand, and Timothy (Kim) Morson of South Beloit, Wisconsin; 1 stepdaughter, Twila (Charles) Klienshans of Houma, Louisiana; 2 sisters, Linda (Gail) Wilhelms of Ridott and Marilyn Schock of Seward; 1 brother, Wayne (Lydia) Craig of Freeport; 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were father, wife Cora, infant son Larry and one brother.
