Allen Meyer, 67, of Freeport, Illinois, passed away on September 20, 2025. He was born in Freeport on March 12, 1958, the son of Al and Pauline Meyer.

He is survived by his son, Reverend Adam (Amy) Meyer of South Beloit, Illinois; his beloved grandchildren, Elijah and Addalynn Meyer; and sisters Deonna Love, Darla (Eric) Loos, Della (Bryan) Hathaway, and Charlotte (Edward) Salzman. He was preceded in death by Father Al Meyer, his sister Paulette, stepbrother Dale, and his mother Pauline.

With a life motto of "go fast and go hard," he truly embodied adventure and passion. He loved hunting, fishing, and anything with an engine. For many years, he raced motocross and, in recent years, enjoyed racing go-karts. One of his greatest joys was teaching and cheering on his grandson, Elijah, on the track.

He retired from Anchor Harvey and, in his later years, worked in maintenance at Snack King. Known for his friendliness and love for people, he had a gift for making connections wherever he went and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services will be held at Lucky Pines in Freeport, Illinois, on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. With his Son, Pastor Adam Meyer, officiating.  Condolences can be left for the family at www.walkermortuary.com
