Freeport: Allen L. Schubert, 86, of Freeport, died Thursday January 15, 2004 at his home. Born May 19, 1917 in Carroll County he was the son of Charles and Clara (Toepfer) Schubert. On June 10, 1951 he married Ruth E. Vanderheyden in Stockton and she preceded him in death on October 9, 1997.
He was a tool & die maker for Newell Companies retiring in 1982.
He was a member of Bethany United Church of Christ
Surviving are his two sons, Tom (Conni) Schubert of Sycamore and Scott (Joyce) Schubert of Dallas, TX. two grandsons, Matthew and Jeffrey Schubert of Woodstock; one sister, Erma Robinson of Elizabeth; one brother, Leland (Alice) Schubert of Pleasant Valley.
His parents; wife; and his sister, Dorothy Polhill, preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be held Monday 11 a.m. at Bethany United Church of Christ with the Reverend Ward Malloy and Reverend James Brown of the church officiating.
Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call Sunday 5 to 7 p.m. at Walker Mortuary.
A memorial has been established for Bethany United Church of Christ.
