Allen F. Shoup, 88, of Freeport, died Wednesday, June 10, 2015, at Presence St. Joseph Nursing Center.
Born April 4, 1927 in Lanark he was the son of Boyd and Evelyn (Haugh) Shoup. He married Norma Hartman in 1947 and on June 21, 1975 he married Ellen Kastning.
He graduated from Lanark High School in 1945.
Allen Farmed near Lanark until 1970 and then worked as a farm equipment salesman for Warner Farm Service and Ford New Holland until his retirement 1985.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Surviving is his wife, Ellen of Freeport; his children, Linda L. (Ron) Miller, Debra (Jayme) Linder, Emily (Ian) Bailey, Karl (Donna) Kastning, Steven (Theresa) Kastning; 1 sister-in-law, Betty Shoup; his grandchildren and great grandchildren; Ellen's grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Emmert.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, June 15, 2015 at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Twelve Mile Grove Cemetery in Pecatonica.
Visitation will be 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, June 14, 2015 at Walker Mortuary and 10 a.m. until time of service at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Monday.
A memorial has been established for Immanuel Lutheran Church and School.
