Obituary
Freeport-Alta M. Winter, 101, of Freeport, died Sunday, November 28, 2004, at Stephenson Nursing Center.
Born January 5, 1903 in Dickerville, Michigan she was the daughter of William and Otha (Evert) Dean. She married Mr. Fred "Happy" James and he preceded her in death. She married Herman Winter and he preceded her in death.
She worked at the Junior High School Cafeteria and also did private catering.
She was a member of First Baptist Church and their Golden Circle.
Surviving is her stepdaughter, Phyllis Smith of San Diego, California.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 husbands; 2 sisters; 1 brother; and 1 stepdaughter.
Funeral service and burial will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Chapel of Peace at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens with Reverend Andrew Taylor of First Baptist Church officiating.
Visitation will be Wednesday 1 p.m. until time of service in the Chapel.
