Alvin E. Fricke, 81, of Freeport, died Saturday, January 24, 2009, at The Neighbors Nursing Home in Byron.
He previously lived at Parkview Home.
Born April 16, 1927 in Freeport he was the son of Simon and Margaret (Decknadel) Fricke.
He was a World War II Army Veteran.
Alvin worked at Kraft Foods and House of Lingberg in Freeport.
Surviving are his 1 sister, Marjorie Wessels of German Valley; 1 brother, Karl (Carol) Fricke of Independence, Iowa; nieces and nephews, Marcy Wessels of Freeport, Miles Wessels of Germany Valley, Vicki (Mike) Nagel, Becky (Rex) McCoy and Patti (Ron) King all of Germany Valley, Lance (Janice) Fricke of Independence, Iowa, Lynnel (David) Kahn of The Woodlands, Texas, Krista (Tom ) Miners of Farley, Iowa, Stacey (Rick) Rungatis of DeMoines, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 sister, Betty Koehn; 2 brother in-laws, Robert Wessels, and Stanley Koehn; and 1 nephew, Kyle Fricke.
Funeral service will be Tuesday 11 a.m. at Walker Mortuary with Reverend Randall Knoll of Silver Creek Reformed Church officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Tuesday 10 a.m. until time of service at Walker Mortuary.
A memorial has been established in his name.
