Freeport - Alvin L. Shain Jr, 60 of Freeport passed away at Lena Living Center on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 after an extended illness.  He was born on April 22, 1963 to Alvin and Delores (Walthers) Shain Sr.  He married Wendy Peck on October 22, 1982 in Freeport.  He enjoyed being with his family, fishing, singing karaoke, his job at Modern Plating and partying with his friends.

He is survived by his wife, Wendy of Freeport; daughters, Nicole (Kristopher Feld) Shain of Freeport and PennyShain (Gary Metz) of Orfordville, WI.  His son, Randy Shain of Freeport; Sisters, Mary Shain formerly of Freeport, Cindy (Allen) Ditsworth of Freeport, Kathy (Keith ) Wheat of Freeport, Terri (Steve) Kasting of Darien, WI, Doris Aeling of Freeport; half sister, Jesse Shain of Freeport and his step-sister, Norma J. Shain of Freeport.  He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Archibald Shain and sister, Averly Shain.  His beloved cat, Bear also precedes him death and was waiting at heaven's gate for him.
