Angelo "Shorty" Gagliardi, 88 of Forreston died Sunday August 9, 2009 at Provena St. Joseph Home. Born April 2, 1921 in Hibbing Minnesota, he was the son of Jack and Edith (Alexander) Gagliardi. He was a graduate of Freeport High School class of 1940. On July 17th, 1943 Angelo and Mary (Brault) were united in marriage in Freeport. He worked as a cheesemaker most of his life at various cheese factories, including Kraft Foods, Crest Foods and Forreston Swiss Cheese. In his earlier years he worked at Micro Switch. He had a great fondness for all types of animals, especially the many pet dogs and cats he enjoyed spoiling.
He is survived by two daughters, Sandy (Jerry) Stukenberg of Forreston, Missy (Mike) Clark of Shannon; two sons Mike (Carol) Gagliardi of Forreston, John (Sandra) Gagliardi of Freeport; four granddaughters, Lisa Stukenberg of Shorewood, WI, Jessica (Jim) Currier of Freeport, Sarah Gagliardi of Bellingham, WA, Angela Anderson of Forreston; four grandsons Steve Stukenberg of Belvidere, Joe (Jennifer) Stukenberg of Minneapolis, MN, Derrik Gagliardi of Minneapolis, MN, Brian (Tiffany) Gagliardi Of Appleton, WI; Three great grandsons, Noah and Kayden Currier of Freeport, Jonathan Gagliardi of Appleton, WI, one great granddaughter Josephine Stukenberg of Minneapolis and sister-in-law Marie Salfai of Peshtigo, WI.
He is preceded in death by his wife Mary, one brother Woodrow and several brothers and sisters-in-law.
Visitation will be Wednesday 12 noon until time of service at 1:00 pm at Walker Mortuary with the Reverend Jean Carmean officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded and burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
A memorial fund has been established in his name.
