Anita R. Hottmann

Anita R. Hottmann, age 64 of Freeport, IL, passed away at home on Friday, July 3, 2026. She was born on October 27, 1961 in Freeport; the daughter of the late Marlyn and Rose Boomgarden. Anita graduated from Freeport High School and went on to receive her Bachelor’s from Columbia University. She married Ralf Hottmann on August 20, 1980.

Anita worked in customer service for Honeywell in Freeport until retirement. In her younger years she had a passion for playing softball and volleyball. She enjoyed thrifting and going out to eat. She was fearless and loving. Above all else, family was most important to her. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her husband Ralf Hottmann; son, Aaron (Sarah Nerad-Hottmann) Hottmann; daughter, Alicia Hottmann; grandchildren, Stella and Sawyer Stevens; brother, Marlyn Boomgarden; sisters, Ramona Schultz and Marlene Stewert; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life will be held on July 11. 2026 at the Cedarville Fire Dept. from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Condolences may be shared with her family at www.walkermortuary.com.
