Anita Marie Pfile 73, of Freeport died Friday August 15, 2008 of Heart failure caused by affects of amyloidosis. Born January 7, 1935 in Kalona, IA to Walter E. and Alta F. (Rhodes) Marner. She married Elton E. Pfile on Nov. 8, 1958 at East Union Mennonite Church, Kalona, IA. She was an active member of Freeport Mennonite Church , where she was active teaching Sunday school, Bible School and was involved with Women in Mission. She worked at the Sanitary Cleaners for a number of years. After retirement, she volunteered at Taylor Park School, FACC and FHN. She and her husband Elton traveled with the Freeport High School Show Choir for 18 tours.

She is survived by her husband of Freeport, children Lisa M. (Anthony) Miller of Anderson S.C., Diane K. (partner Ruth Vallasenor) of Oakland, CA, Brian E. (Jodi) Pfile of Orange Park, Fl; six grandchildren Hannah, Sarah Miller of Anderson S.C., Rebekah, Jordan, Lauren and Peyton Pfile all of Orange Park, FL.; mother Alta of Wellman, IA; one brother K.F. (Deanna) Marner of Carol Stream.
She is preceded in death by her father and one brother Keith.

"She was a friend and prayer warrior for many, concerned about the welfare of her children, grandchildren, church family and community." She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed flower gardening.

Visitation will be Sunday 6pm until 8pm at Walker Mortuary. Cremation rites will be accorded and a memorial service will be Monday 11:00 am at the Freeport Mennonite Church with the Reverend David Schrader officiating.
Burial of cremated remains will be in the Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in her name for the Freeport Mennonite Church Capital Campaign.
