Freeport – Anitta M. Klinger, 83, of Freeport passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020.  She passed away comfortably and peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family & husband after an extended but courageous battle with cancer.

She was born July 16, 1937 in Swindon England, the daughter of George and Elsie Price (Carter).  Anitta married Gary L. Klinger on December 18, 1981.

Anitta was employed at Newell Window Furnishings for 20 years before retiring in 1995.  She was an avid Elvis Presley and Chicago Bear fan.  She also enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas and other destinations.  Anitta loved spending time with family.   Her unconditional love for family never wavered during the course of her lifetime and she cherished the laughter, closeness and warmth of family.  Her family could always depend on her regardless of circumstances.  Her unconditional love, laughter, wisdom, common sense, quick wit, fairness and inner strength assure that she will be dearly missed by all those that new and loved her.

Anitta is survived by her husband, Gary L. Klinger of Freeport, sister Mavis Gilbert of New Zealand, sons:  Steve (Dixie) Bushey, Chuck Bushey and Richard Bushey, daughters:  Cindy Heilman and Tracey Bushey, all of Freeport, her husband's children:  Tess Klinger and Cerel Klinger both of Freeport, along with nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.  Anitta was preceded in death by both parents, five brothers and one beloved grandson.

Cremation rites were accorded. A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 9th, 2021 at 12 noon followed by a service at 1pm all at Walker Mortuary.  Her final resting place will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.  Please be respectful of the family and others by wearing a mask at all times and by practicing social distancing.

A memorial has been established in her name for St. Jude's Children's hospital.
