Arlene R. Standring, age 90 of Rockford, IL, passed away on Monday, December 10, 2018 at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport. She was born December 29, 1927; the daughter of Wallie and Margaret (Heidenreich) North. She was a graduate of Freeport High School. Arlene married William Standring on May 21, 1948; he passed on January 18, 1998.

She had worked for Micro Switch in Freeport and later at Illinois National Bank. She was a member of Beth Eden Church in Rockford. Her memberships also include the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Fraternal Order of the Eagles of Freeport, The Elks and Moose Lodges of Biloxi, MS. Arlene enjoyed traveling, knitting, sewing, and crocheting.

She is survived by her nephews, Gordon North of Pecationica, IL, Gary (Chris) North of Freeport, and Matthew Jon (Tara) Kaiser of Freeport; nieces, Jody (Jim) Herold of Biloxi, MS, Susan (Luke) Rosenberger of IA, and Peggy (Tony) Folgate of Freeport; several great nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Betty North of Freeport. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; brother, Melvin North; and niece, JoAnne Markwardt.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 14 ^th at 11:00 a.m. at Beth Eden Church in Rockford with a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport. A memorial fund has been established in her name.
