Freeport – Arlene M. Wellner, 85 of Freeport passed away at FHN Memorial Hospital with her daughter at her side.  Born on July 4 ^th , 1936 in Elizabeth, IL to the late Peter and Emma (Theviot) Haas. After graduating from Freeport High School she worked at HB Plastics as a secretary, as well as bartending and cooking at the VFW club.  She loved to go to the casinos, shopping and being with family.  Arlene was also a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She was very much a people person in every way.

She is survived by her daughter, Carol (Thomas) Knipschield of Freeport as well as her son, Mark Wellner also of Freeport.  Her legacy also includes her one and only grandson, Jared Beggin of Freeport.  She is preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Susan Wellner.

Services will be on Saturday, November 13 ^th with a visitation beginning at 9am at Walker Mortuary with a service to follow at 10am also at Walker Mortuary.  A memorial has been established in her name at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Freeport.  Condolences can be left for the family at www.walkermortuary.com
