Arnold W. Aisenbrey, age 93 of Dakota, IL, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2016 at Presence St. Joseph Center in Freeport, IL. He was born December 21, 1922 in Hutchinson County, SD to the late William and Louise (Gross) Aisenbrey. Arnold married Lois Horstmeier in October of 1947; she died August 17, 2009.
He farmed many years with his wife in rural Dakota. He was a member of Afolkey Bethel United Methodist Church. Arnold's hobbies were rope making and wood working, especially making bird houses. He also enjoyed driving his barrel train in parades and festivals.
He is survived by his daughter, Mary (Gale) Fryer of Freeport; son, Stephen (Debra) Aisenbrey of Roscoe, IL; grandchildren, Melissa (David) Anderson of Fort Wayne, IN, Nicholas (Kelly) Fryer of Winslow, IL, and Bailee Aisenbrey of Roscoe; great grandchildren, Katie & Aubrey Fryer and Delaney & Adalyn Anderson; and sisters-in-law, Iva Aisenbrey and Margaret Priewe.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lois; son, James Aisenbrey; brothers, John, Alvin, Oliver and Louis; and sisters, Ruth and Ada.
The funeral service will be held Monday, October 3rd at 11:00 am at the Orangeville United Methodist Church in Orangeville, IL. There will be a visitation before the service beginning at 9:30 am. Interment will take place at Bethel Cemetery in Afolkey. A memorial fund has been established. Condolences may be shared with his family at www.walkermortuary.com
