Freeport – Arnold H. Giedd, 82 of Freeport passed away at FHN Memorial Hospital on September 20, 2025.  He was born on January 7, 1943 to Leonard and Clara (Janssen) Giedd in Avon, SD.  He and Kay Wolfensberger were married on June 27, 1964 and together they built a life of love, laughter and family.

He graduated in 1963 from Shannon High School.  Arnold worked as a Process Engineer in the surrounding area, retiring from (Sauer) Dan Foss in Freeport.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, basketball, baseball, listening to traditional country music, camping, being a member of the Freeport archery club.  He was proud to be a top athlete when he was in high school.

He is survived by his wife, Kay of Freeport; daughters, Janet (Doug) Hallman of Ft. Worth, TX and their children Andy and Jimmy; Suanne (Randy) Lovvorn of Irving, TX and their children, Kayleigh (Samir) Date of Irving, TX and their son, Ronan; Jacob Lovvorn also of Irving, TX.  One brother, David (Ramona) Giedd.

The family would also like to say thank you to Arnold's caregivers, Jodi and John as well as a special thanks to Judy Tobin for all of her help and support.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Clara (Janssen) Giedd and his inlaws, Homer and Lucille (Porter) Wolfensberger; five brothers one sister.

Cremation rites have been accorded and there will be private immediate family services held.  His final resting place will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport.  Condolences can be left for the family at www.walkermortuary.com
