Cedarville – Arthur E. Leverington, 82 of Cedarville passed away at Monroe Hospital after a brief illness.  He was born on November 27, 1940 in Davis, Illinois to the late Marion and Ardith (Shippy) Leverington.  He served in the Air Force from 1958 – 1965.  He married Janice Lolling on November 12, 1963 and together they raised a family.

He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church of Freeport.  He loved being a part of the Rockford Model A's Club traveling with his friends all over the stateline area enjoying that hobby together.  He was also a member of the Cedarville Lions Club serving where he was a past president.  He was a bird lover, a gardener with a green house, he enjoyed woodworking, fishing in Canada and being a helpful 'Mr. Fix it' for anyone that needed help.

He is survived by his wife, Janice of Cedarville; daughters, Toni (Bernie) Lamm of Freeport and Tina (James) Fuhrman of Rockton; brother, James (Mary) Leverington of Freeport.  His legacy also includes a grandson, Nick (Joy Scoggins) Lockner of Arnold, MO and a granddaughter, Megan Perry of AZ as well as 6 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his son, Alan Lee Cummins and his brother, Edward Leverington.

There will be a visitation on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 beginning at 9:30AM at St. Thomas Aquinas Church of Freeport.  A service will immediately follow at 10:30AM also at St. Thomas Aquinas Church.  Burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens of Freeport.
