Audrey J. Siegmeier Spahr         1929-2022

Audrey Jean Siegmeier Spahr, 93 of Freeport, passed away on July 24, 2022, with her "girls" by her side.  Born June 17, 1929 in Freeport, Illinois, she was the daughter of Henry W Klaus and Grace E Ammerman Klaus.

William Siegmeier and Audrey were married on September 10, 1949, and were blessed with 2 daughters, Karen and Gale.  William passed away in February 1973.  Audrey married Harry C Spahr in February 1981.  He passed away in November 2003.

She was employed at Bankers Mutual Life Insurance Co (now Trustmark Insurance Co) for 25 years, retiring in 1991.

Audrey had a strong prayer life and love for the Lord.  She was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.  She was a charter member of the Fidelis Circle and attended Young at Heart.   She enjoyed cooking and baking and was famous for her German Potato Salad.  Her most loved times were spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, celebrating birthdays, holidays and attending many of their school, church and sporting events.  Some of Audrey's favorite days were spent at Sauk City, WI, enjoying the family time together.  She had a loving and giving spirit, always showing unconditional love.  She will be forever remembered as our GG, dearly loved and greatly missed.

Surviving are her daughters, Karen (Dave) Manson and Gale Stone both of Freeport, Harry's children Jeff (Gayle) Spahr, Baileyville, IL and Marcia Spahr of Sterling, IL.  Grandchildren, Nicholas (Amanda) Stone of Perry, MI, Daniel Stone of Freeport, IL, Laura Manson (Joe Quade) of Madison WI, and Jonathan Manson of Freeport, IL.  Harry's grandchildren, Theresa (Richard) Grendell, Patrick Spahr and Scott (Megan) Spahr. Great grandchildren, Hazel Stone and Saige Stone, Adeline Stone and Jack Stone, Cora Quade and Romen, Leia and Knox Manson, with Harlow meeting her in heaven.  Harry's great grandchildren, Jessica Murphy, Alex and Jayelle Spahr. She is also survived by sisters in law Peggy Siegmeier and Marcella Popp and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, William and Harry, son in law Robert Stone, brothers  Robert (Jeanne) Klaus and Paul (Beulah) Klaus and sister Gloria (Roland) Suttman,  great granddaughter, Harlow Manson and Harry's great granddaughter, Alyssa Murphy, brothers in law Leon Siegmeier and Don Popp, and nephews Scott Siegmeier, Paul Klaus II, and James Popp.

Service will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Friday, July 29, 2022, at 11:00am with visitation before the service starting at 9:30.
