Avis J. Kutzke , age 81 of Freeport, IL passed away Monday, January 15, 2018 at Presence St. Joseph Center. She was born on October 22, 1936 in Freeport to the late Oscar Lamm Sr. and Gennevieve McCord. Avis married Robert Kutzke on January 7, 1961. He passed away November 12, 2002.

She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Freeport, the McConnell American Legion Auxiliary and the Orangeville Country Swingers Square Dancing Club. Avis enjoyed crafting, knitting, crocheting, cooking, canning, gardening, dancing, traveling with her husband Bobbie and going to Country Western Concerts. She would often dress as a clown for children's parties. Most of all, Avis loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her son, Will (Candy) Shenberger; her daughters, Gwen (Dewayne Morrison) Zimmerman and Jean Kutzke; her grandchildren, Rob, Rick, Steve and Stephanie; her great grandchildren, Eli, R.J. and Angela; her brothers, Gerry, Fred (Barb), Bob (Kathy), Richard (Brenda) and Duane (Denise); her sisters, Bea and Debbie; her sisters-in-law, Nancy and Reggie; and multiple nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brothers, Oscar Jr., Theodore and Charles; and her sisters, Vicky, Linda, Dixie and Pat.
