Avis Luke, 85, of Rockford, formerly of Mendota, died Friday, December 25, 2009, at the Atrium Nursing Home.
Born April 2, 1924 at home in Thebes, Illinois she was the daughter of Glenn and Viola (Goskie) Lewis. She married Chalon Luke and he preceded her in death.
Surviving is her son, Cliff (Kathie) Luke of Freeport; 2 grandchildren, Christopher (Sabra) Luke of Durham, North Carolina and Corey (Lisa) Luke of Rogers, Minnesota; 4 great grandchildren, Travis and Truman Luke, Madelyn and Scarlett Luke.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and 1 daughter, Cheryl.
Graveside services and burial were held Wednesday, December, 30, 2009, 1:30 p.m. at Lawn Ridge Cemetery in Rochelle with her daughter in-law, Reverend Kathleen Luke, of United Presbyterian Church of Freeport officiating.
A memorial has been established for United Presbyterian Church of Freeport.
