Obituary

Freeport - Barbara A. (Endress) Bazala, 81 of Freeport passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 2, 2023.  She was born on May 12, 1942 in Freeport to Glenn and Clarabelle (Wurster) Endress.  She married Walter V. Moss Jr. on May 14, 1960 in Freeport.  He died February 15, 1976.  She then married, Andrew Bazala on November 23, 1978 and he died on April 19, 1999.

She worked at Micro Switch Honeywell in the Purchasing Department doing Data Services for 30 years before her retirement on March 1, 2002.  She attended Lena and Pearl City Schools in her youth.  She was a member of Zion Church of Freeport.  She belonged to the Micro Switch Quarter Century Club, FOE 679 Auxiliary, the Freeport Memorial Hospital Volunteers, the FHN Hospice organization, Meals on Wheels and for many years she supported the Friends Forever Humane Society. She enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, crocheting, baking, gardening, dancing, her IPAD games and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her companion, Gerald Schuekle of Freeport; her children Tom (Sue) Bazala of Somerset, PA; Wayne Moss of Freeport; Ronda (Bill) Kliman of Loves Park, IL; Andrea (Mark) Lammers of Freeport and her beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren, god daughters, nieces and nephews.  Her sisters, Betty Eagan of Mesa, AZ; Nancy (Jim ) Marsh of Bettendorf, IA; Bonnie Endress of Mesa, AZ and her brother, Kenneth Endress of Lena, IL.

Her extended family includes Charlene Kubatzke, Terry Simons and her Zion Church family.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Glenda Keech, her husbands and daughter, Christina (Bazala) Heitz as well as multiple relatives, friends and church family members that she cherished so very much.

There will be a visitation at Zion Church of Freeport on Thursday, October 12 beginning at 10am followed by a service, also at the church, beginning at 11am.  Her final resting place will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her name for the Zion Church of Freeport and Friends Forever Humane Society of Freeport.  Condolences can be left for the family at www. walkermortuary.com.
