Ridott – Barbara Judd, 85 of Ridott died at Parkview Home, Freeport on Tuesday, October 5 th with her husband at her side. Born on August 13, 1936 in Rockford, IL to the late Wilbur and Ruth (Faulkner) Halbin. Barbara graduated from Harlem High School in Loves Park. She met Earl through 4-H and they were married on August 24, 1957. Together they raised a family and farmed for many years raising and breeding sheep. They spent many years showing sheep and they were very involved with the Forreston Sheep Breeders. She was a leader for the 4-H "Country Cuzins" and the "New England Banner" clubs. She was known for her cooking, entertaining, her cream cheese mints and especially her baking talents.
She is survived by her husband, Earl; her sons, Stephen (Kathy) Judd of Ridott; Kevin Judd of Durand; and Gregory (Melissa) Judd of Aberdeen, NC as well as her daughter, Stacy (Bryan) Wishard of Ridott. Her legacy also includes 6 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Geraldine Bunk and her sister-in-law, Nancy Hawbaker.
Services will be held at Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Dakota on Saturday, October 9th with a visitation beginning at 9:30am and a service immediately following at 11am with Pastor Matt Mitchell of the Winneshiek Evangelical Free Church officiating. Burial will take place at Dakota Cemetery. The family is asking to follow the Illinois Mask Mandates while attending the visitation and service.
