Freeport - Barbara Jane MacKenzie, age 78, passed away on March 18, 2012 while at the Freeport Memorial Hospital.
Barb was born on January 15, 1934 in Dakota the daughter of Charles and Marjorie (Meinert) Homan. Barb graduated from Orangeville High School in 1951. She was married to her husband of over 58 years, Ronald MacKenzie on August 14, 1953 at the Bethel United Methodist Church.
Barb worked for many years for Microswitch and retired on March 31, 1994 and was a current member of Park Hills Evangelical Church. Barb enjoyed traveling with her husband and golfing, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and all of their sports functions. She also enjoyed spending time with her family on family vacations in Alexandria, MN.
Barb is survived by her husband, Ronald of Freeport; three children, Tina (Bob) Martin of Freeport, Mark (Elizabeth) MacKenzie of Orangeville and Tim (Willa) MacKenzie of LaCrosse; a sister, Diana (Harry) Bowen of Orangeville, 11 grandchildren, Tania (Jarod) Williams, Erika (Shawn) Johnson, Chad (April) Martin, Michelle (Brady) Swalve, Brent MacKenzie, Garrett MacKenzie, Michael MacKenzie, Christian MacKenzie, Kyra MacKenzie, Kenny MacKenzie and Dana MacKenzie; 10 great grandchildren, Brockton Williams, Bret Williams, Mersadez Martin, Camrynn Martin, Landyn Johnson, Kaya Swalve, Kayla Swalve, Autumn MacKenzie, Mason MacKenzie and Devon MacKenzie.
Barb was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Mary Casperson, a brother, Ronald Homan and a great grandson, Bryson Williams.
