Freeport-Barbara M. Young, 92, of Freeport, died Thursday, March 24, 2005 at Provena
St. Joesph Nursing Center.
Born April 11, 1912 in Freeport she was the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Montague) Meyer. She married Harold Young April 5, 1944 in Freeport. He died January 1, 2002.
She worked for Burgess Battery for 38 years and was part owner of Shawnee Tap. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Freeport.
She is survived by 2 nieces Marcene Kubly and Shirley Lamm both of Freeport.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother and one sister.
Funeral service will be held 11:30 am Saturday March 26, 2005 at Walker Mortuary with the Reverend John Cahill of St. Joseph Catholic Church officiating.
Visitation will be Saturday 10:30 am until the time of the service at Walker Mortuary.
Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Freeport.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
