Freeport-Bernice L. Gorda, 92, of Freeport, died Thursday, November 11, 2004, at the Stephenson Nursing Center.
Born June 30, 1912 in rural Davis she was the daughter of Frank and Ora (Dreakey) Ashenfelter. She married Eldred E. Daniel and he preceded her in death. She married Charles Bailey and he preceded her in death. She was married to Floyd Gorda.
She owned and operated the Gorda's Beauty Salon.
Her memberships include Embury United Methodist Church, and Friends Forever Humane Society.
Surviving are her sister, Fern Tielkemeier; niece, Joyce Tielkemeier; nephew, Marsden (Karen) Tielkemeier all of Pecatonica; stepson, Don (Velma) Bailey of Springfield; 2 great nieces; 1 great nephew; numerous great great nieces and nephews.
Her parents; husbands; and sister preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Monday at Walker Mortuary with Reverend D. Robin Benson of Embury United Methodist Church officiating. Entombment will be in the Oakland Cemetery & Mausoleum.
Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. Monday until time of service at Walker Mortuary.
A memorial has been established for Friends Forever Humane Society and Embury United Methodist Church.
