Obituary
Bernice A. Schmidt, 100, of Freeport, died Saturday, November 28, 2009, at Freeport Rehabilitation & Health Care Center.
Born July 26, 1909 in Dubuque, Iowa she was the daughter of Oswald and Sophie (Schnee) Zogg. She married Donald Schmidt in 1933 and he died in 1969.
She was a member of St. Johns United Church of Christ.
Surviving is her daughter, Debbie Schmidt of Freeport; her son, Bruce (Sandi) Schmidt of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Paula Garman of Freeport, Julianne Ott of Austin, Texas, and Daniel Garman of Columbia, Tennessee; great grandchildren, Megan Carus, Rachel Garman, Brandon Garman, Tyler Ott, Andrea Garman, Annika Garman, and Ashton Garman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter, JoAnn Garman; 2 grandsons, Gregg Garman and Scott Garman; 2 sisters, Dorothy Meissner and Margarite Johnson; and 1 brother, Harold Zogg.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
