Freeport-Bernice M. Schweder, 90, of Freeport, died Thursday, March 30, 2006, at FHN Memorial Hospital.
Born March 28, 1916 in Freeport she was the daughter of Henry and Anna (Knoll) Neberman. She married LaVerne R. Schweder September 24, 1946 in Freeport.
She worked at Micro Switch for 20 years until her retirement in 1983.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church participating in the church choir, Alter Guild, and Concordia Society.
Bernice enjoyed cooking, planting flowers, and spending time with her family,
Surviving is her husband, LaVerne; her son, Robert (Sandy) Schweder both of Freeport; 4 grandchildren, David (Sherrie) Schweder of Sioux City, Iowa, Carrie (Richard) Schrader of Rockford, Staci (Chad) McNett of DeKalb, and Andrea Schweder of Freeport; 7 great grandchildren, Dominic, Kaley, and Cameron Schweder, Lauryn and Stephany Schrader, Ryan and Sydney McNett; 1 sister; Ruth (Harold) Eder of Freeport..
She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sisters; 7 brothers.
Funeral service will be Monday 10:30 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Reverend Willis Schwichtenberg and Vicar David Daniel officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Sunday 2 to 4 p.m. at Walker Mortuary.
