Betty J. Baker, 82, of Freeport, died Thursday, December 11, 2008, at her daughter's home in Freeport.
Born April 26, 1926 in Platteville, Wisconsin she was the daughter of LeRoy and Winifred (Hull) Kamps. She married Estil L. Baker April 29, 1972 and he preceded her in death.
Betty worked at Burgess Battery 25 years retiring in 1978.
She was a member of Freeport Eagles Women's Auxiliary.
Surviving are 3 sons, Jeffrey (Anna) Castle, Timothy (Vicki Aden) Castle, and Randy Baker all of Freeport; 2 daughters, Sharon (Tony) Barthel and Vicki (Richard) Anderson both of Freeport; 3 sisters, Ruth Coplein of Brodhead, Wisconsin, Nancy (James) Bohan of Quincy, and Judith Mattison of Wisconsin; 2 brothers Richard (Ruth) Kamps and Gerald (Caroline) Kamps both of Brodhead, Wisconsin; 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and 1 great great granddaughter; and her best friend and companion, Sassy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 1 brother,; and 1 great granddaughter.
Funeral service will be Tuesday 10:30 at Walker Mortuary with Reverend Diane Jochum officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Monday 4 to 7 p.m. at Walker Mortuary.
