Freeport-Betty L. Beck, 80, of Freeport, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 9, 2007, at Provena St. Joseph Nursing Center.
Born September 12, 1926 in Lena she was the daughter of Charles and Laura (Mead) Rees. She married Irvin L. Beck January 9, 1953 in Chicago and he died in 1997.
Betty worked at Burgess Battery in Freeport, Bethesda Nursing Home in Chicago, and managed apartments in Arizona.
Surviving are her nieces, Irene (Leo) Chambers and Connie (Kevin) Paul both of Freeport, and Linda (Rodney) Childs of Earlville; her nephews, James (Nancy) Hunt of Batavia and Kim (Lois) Rees of Freeport; many great nieces and nephews; many great great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one brother; and two sisters.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Internment of her cremated remains will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
A memorial has been established for Provena St. Joseph Home.
