Freeport, Illinois-Betty L. Drake, 77, of Freeport, Illinois died Monday, May 1, 2006, at FHN Memorial Hospital.
Born May 28, 1928 in Aurora, Illinois she was the daughter of Walter and Ellen (Gillis) West.
Betty lived at Stephenson Nursing Center in Freeport, Illinois for more than 20 years. She and her family sincerely appreciated the dedicated staff at the Center. As a resident of the Center she enjoyed volunteering playing bingo, euchre, and crafting.
Surviving are two sons, Rick (Evelyn) Drake of McConnell and James Joseph (Bonnie) Drake of Sheperdsville, Kentucky; one daughter, Cindi (Ted) Gross of Freeport; one brother, David West (Joan) of Hudson, Florida; one sister in-law, Ruth West of Aurora; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Her parents; 2 brothers; and one grandchild preceded her in death.
Funeral service and burial will be Friday 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Oakland Cemetery & Mausoleum with Reverend John Hollis of First Church of the Nazarene officiating.
A memorial has been for the Stephenson Nursing Center in Freeport, Illinois.
