Betty Ann Hepler, 74, of Freeport, died Sunday, August 3, 2014, at her home.
Born March 31, 1940 in Forreston she was the daughter of Henry and Gertrude (Ruter) Bornemeier.
She married Fred Thompson on June 21, 1958. She married Kurt Hepler November 30, 1996 and he preceded her in death October 23, 1998.
Betty worked at Gronewald Sales & Service in Forreston, Forreston State Bank and Jane Addams.
She was the Forreston Township Clerk for 16 years, loved reading, shopping, Chicago Bears, lounging in her pajamas, and volunteering for FHN Memorial Hospital.
Surviving are her children, Sheila Thompson of Sandwich, Scott Thompson of Forreston, Sharla Buss of Freeport, and Stuart (Lisa) Thompson of Byron; her sisters, Sally Fager of Forreston, Joann (Lyle) Coffman of Kankakee, Beverly (Virgil) Hayunga of Freeport, Linda Brinkman of Beloit, Wisconsin, Doris Pittsley of Freeport, and Nylia (Darrel) Swalve of Forreston; eight grandchildren, Shianne, Shaunda, Brandi, Tyler, Savannah, Colton, Brittani, and Torianna; five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at First Church of the Nazarene. Burial will be in White Oak Cemetery in Forreston.
Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Walker Mortuary.
