Obituary

Betty J. Rinderman, 85, of Freeport, died Thursday, September 11, 2008, at Provena St. Joseph Nursing Center.
Born March 13, 1923 in Beaver County, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of Charles and Phoebe (Gates) Higley. She married Richard Rinderman April 6, 1971 and he died November 12, 2007.
Betty worked at Micro Switch for 22 years retiring in 1975.
She was a member of Bethany United Church of Christ.
Volunteering was very important to her. She worked with her church, PADS, and the Stephenson County Senior Center.
Betty loved the outdoors, her garden, flowers, and her many poodle dogs that she cared for through out her life.
She came to love the staffs at both Stephenson Nursing Center and Provena St. Joseph Nursing Center as family.
She was very proud of her new crop of grandchildren including many twins.
She is survived by 5 daughters Dixie Schubert of Winslow, Roxie Montgomery of Freeport, Debra Rinderman of Reedsburg, WI, Sally Schnell of Freeport, and Charlene Dewey of Freeport; 2 sons Rick (Julie) Rinderman of Pearl City, Terry Rinderman of Lena; her sister, Doris Heck of Freeport; several grandchildren, great and great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 2 sisters, Phyllis Stearns and Evelyn Ritter; 1 brother, James Higley; 1 grandchild, Terrie Sullivan; 1 great grandchild, Abigail Sanger.
Visitation will be Monday 4 to 7 p.m. at Bethany United Church of Christ.
Funeral service will be Tuesday 10:30 a.m. at Bethany United Church of Christ.
Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Memorials have been established for Bethany United Church of Christ and Friends Forever Humane Society.
