Betty L. Shuey, 89, formerly of Cedarville, went to be with her Lord Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Big Meadows in Savanna. Born May 15, 1924 in Freeport she was the daughter of Arthur and Mabel (Simpson) Oswalt. She married Paul E. Euler Sr. in 1942. Prior to their divorce they had one son Paul (Diane) Euler of Houston, MN and a daughter Sandra Lynn who preceded her in death at the age of four. She lived many years in Arizona with her husband Curtis Mellentine, after his death she moved back to Cedarville when she joined Emmanuel Church in Cedarville where she was active with the Missions and church choir. She then met and married Jack Shuey. She is survived by her son, three grandchildren Patrick (Joan) Euler, Tawna Euler, Darin (Cindy) Euler; three great grandchildren Jaimee Euler Burke, Jodi Elizabeth Euler, Dillon Paul Euler; two sisters Althea (Richard) Hornung of Cedarville and Mildred Hunter of CA; several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, husbands Curt Mellentine and Jack Shuey, and two sisters Marion Hanson and Lorraine Hornung. Visitation and funeral will be Tuesday, February 18, 2014 from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 10:30 a.m. at Walker Mortuary. Burial will be at the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport. Following the committal service at the cemetery there will be a lunch served for family and friends at Cedarville Emmanuel Church in Cedarville.
