Betty J. Stebbins, 87 of Freeport died Friday, January 04, 2013 at the Oakley Courts in Freeport. Born December 25, 1925 in Freeport she was the daughter of Leslie and Ella (Popp) Roth. On July 31, 1964 she and Russell N. Stebbins were united in marriage, he preceded her in death on July 28, 1980. She worked for Fair Banks Morse, Hecks Ladies Wear and Ringer's Jewelry. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and the Eagles Club Auxiliary. Surviving are two cousins Lucille Corman of Freeport, Eleanor (Bill) Kilker of Rockford; niece Jan (Randy) Rawleigh of Freeport, nephew Ron (Susan) Popp of South Carolina. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband and one brother Paul.
Visitation will be Monday 10 am at First Lutheran Church followed by the service at 11am with Reverend Keith Johnson officiating. Burial will be at the Oakland Cemetery in Freeport. A memorial fund has been established in her name for the Church. Walker Mortuary is assisting the family.
