Beulah Black, 92, passed away on March 27, 2010.
She was born in Pearl City on August 30, 1917, the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth (Kortemeier) Kuhlemeyer.
She attended Freeport schools, graduating in 1935. On February 20, 1943, Beulah married Clifford Black at Oak Avenue Church in Freeport. They farmed for 46 years near McConnell, raised 5 daughters, moved to Freeport in 1989, and celebrated their golden anniversary in 1993. Beulah enjoyed entertaining with family and friends and numerous singing groups throughout the years, including the Friendship Trio, Rural Youth (where she met Clifford), J.O.Y. Singers, and Freeport Choral. She loved singing and playing the piano, organ, and marimba.
