Beverly J. Brenner 74 of Dakota died Wednesday July 25, 2007 at FHN Memorial Hospital. Born on January 14, 1933 in Dixon she was the daughter of Raymond and Pauline (Kested) Pettenger. She and Francis J. Brenner were married February 29, 1952 in Pecatonica he died March of 2005.
For many years she and her husband farmed in the Pecatonica and Dakota area. She also worked at various nursing homes as a nurses aide. Her memberships included Rock Grove and Freeport Rebekah Lodges, Daughters of America Revolution, Stephenson Co. Geological Society, Rock Run Historical Society and Dakota 50 plus club.
She is survived by one son Cevin R. (Kathleen "Kitty") Brenner of Freeport; one Daughter Crystal D. (David) O'Connell, of Dakota; one Daughter in law , Kathy Brenner of Shannon; four granddaughters Sarah J. (Donald) Graybill and Stephanie E. (Matt) Mitchell, both of Dakota, Shevan S.(Mike) Svehla of Georgia and Charity A. Brenner of Freeport; five grandsons Scott A. Brenner and Jeremy J. (Erin) Crase both of Freeport. Jason L. O'Connell (Fiance Maria Ginn) of Rockford, Justin J. Beard and Dakotah A. Brenner both of Dakota. 9 great grandchildren; 2 brothers Earl (Esther) Pettenger of Poplar Grove, Steven (Karen) Pettenger of Rockford; 2 sisters Mae (Gary) Allen of Wisconsin, Lois (Edward) VerKuilen of Rockford; special son Paul Ganz of Ridott; and special daughter Brenda Brumley of Dakota.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one son Claire L. Brenner on December 24, 1997, two brothers Merle and Shelby Pettenger.
Funeral service will be 1:00 pm Saturday at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home and Cremation Services at 115 S. West Dakota, IL with the Reverend Allan McLearn-Montz officiating.
Visitation will be Friday from 4pm until 7pm at Daughenbaugh Funeral Home.
Burial will be in the Willwood Burial Park in Rockford.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
