Billy J. Keister, 37, of Freeport, died Saturday, November 1, 2008 at his home.
Born November 29, 1970 in Freeport he was the son of James Keister and Judy (Barthel) Jones
Billy worked for the Journal Standard.
He was a NASCAR fan and his favorite driver was Tony Stewart. He enjoyed watching the buffalo Bills and Chicago Cubs play on TV. He enjoyed being with his nieces. Billy would always tell his nieces he loved them and to have a good day everytime he saw them. It was always important to Billy to be with family for Sunday dinners and Holidays. Billy had such a big heart for stray kittens and cats. He would take them into his home and care for them. His favorite cat was Spunky. Billy was well known in Freeport for having a joker attitude. He liked to pull pranks on friends and family.
Surviving are his parents; James Keister and Judy (Barthel) Jones both of Freeport; 1 sister, Danielle (Timothy) Busch of Freeport; 2 brothers, Dan (Amy) Keister of Onarga, and Brian (Dawn) Keister of Mt. Carroll; 1 step brother, Jo (Diana) Barzano of Franklin Park; nieces, Miranda, Tiphani, Tesla, Tori, Toni, Alexis, Tailere, Deena, Breanna, Step-niece Ashley; step nephews, Sebastian; many aunts, uncles, cousins. His special Aunt, Kathy Mickle of Fort Summer, New Mexico; Billy also enjoyed spending time with Ms Elaine.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Edward and Katherine Barthel and Paternal grandparents, Frank and Wilma (Keister) Mclain.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
Memorial services will be Sunday 2 p.m. at Walker Mortury.
