Blaze Marie Elliott, age 64 of Freeport, IL, passed away at home, surrounded by love on April 13, 2017. She was born February 7, 1953 in Anchorage, AK at Elmendorf Air Force Base and first born to Arthur and Carla Lou Klosa.
She was a member of ABATE and was a Safety & motorcycle Edu. Officer. Blaze was an artist, poet, and published writer. She enjoyed anything artistic and creative. She was also an amazing cook, a talent she loved to teach her children and grandchildren. She was a caring and selfless person who counseled several teens and young adults. Blaze had a great sense of humor, known for being a terrible tease, endlessly fun and always wonderfully unpredictable.
She is survived by her committed life partner, Alan Wallschlaeger of Freeport, IL; sons, James (Katrina) Bunnell of Freeport, IL, Wade Haldeman of Hornbrook, CA and Jon (Bethel) Haldeman of Bozeman, MT; daughters, Hana Li (Joshua) Gelskey of Bozeman, MT and Jennifer (Anthony) Duarte of Dakota, IL; grandchildren, Ava, Weston, Maddox, Lukas and one on the way; brother, Lance (Jill) Klosa of Kiel, WI; sister, Kelly (Joe) Mertens of Westfield, WI; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Wayne Elliott; and sister, Dawn "Doogie" Reiter.
