Obituary

Bonnie S. Jenney (née Pritchard), born July 22, 1958, in Forreston, IL., passed away peacefully on November 5, 2024, at the Serenity Hospice Home in Oregon, IL with family by her side. Bonnie was a spirited and loving figure, known for her high energy and golden heart. Throughout her life, she maintained a modest lifestyle, always knowing the best places to find a good "bargain." Her family always teased her about her weekly "clearance" hauls, in which the items usually were for them.

Bonnie found passion in working, one of the most dedicated workers around. Bonnie held the same two jobs for over 25+ years, one in which she started right before her 18th birthday. After almost 30 years with that company, the doors closed due to economic conditions, which led her to make her second employer her primary. She dedicated over 25 plus years to her second employer. Her work was not just a means of livelihood but a source of many cherished friendships and memories. Even after she elected to retire and her cancer journey began, she returned to her remaining employer, believing it kept her vital and engaged. Our family thanks her recent employer and coworkers for finding things she could do to keep her mind off her reality of her illness.

Family was the centerpiece of Bonnie's life. She is survived by her son, Shane Pritchard of Freeport, IL, and one daughter, Shana (Derek) Coffman of Forreston, IL.  Also surviving her are her pride and joys, her six grandchildren Ariel Pritchard, Ethan Cain, Brooklyn Coffman, Nicholas Deery, Autum Pritchard, and Chloe Pritchard; two step-grandchildren Summer and Micah Coffman; and three incredibly special great-grandchildren Weston, Kinsley, and Evelyn Moser. She also leaves behind a special niece, Angela Ladow, and a special nephew, Cody Pritchard, along with countless other family and special friends. Bonnie is preceded in death by her parent's Donald and Delores (Buss) Pritchard, her three siblings Connie, Donna, and Tim, along with numerous other family and friends.

Bonnie's hobbies included shopping and attending local festivals with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Known for never wearing shoes during these outings, she enjoyed living life to the fullest with her family, always by her side. Bonnie's greatest joy was found within her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always being present in their lives. She never missed a chance to have a conversation, meal, or a sleepover with any of her family members. If you met Bonnie, you were guaranteed to hear a story about a grandchild or great-grandchild, before ending your conversation.  Even leading up to her final days, her family's well-being remained her main concern.

In accordance with her wishes, Bonnie will be remembered in a private, immediate family, service. Walker Mortuary in Freeport, IL, is assisting the family with the cremation arrangements. The burial will be at West Grove Cemetery in Forreston, IL.

Memorial contributions can be made to Serenity Home and Hospice in Oregon, IL, honoring Bonnie's appreciation for the care she received in her final days. Bonnie's legacy of love, resilience, and community will be cherished and remembered by all who knew her.

The family would like to thank all the staff within Serenity Home and Hospice, especially recognizing her Nurse Practitioner, Kacey Cain, Nurses Laura, Sam, and Bree, along with CNA Monique. They also would like to thank Dr. Dennie of UW Madison and the Oncology staff, along with Dr. Koneru and the Radiation staff at Leonard C. Ferguson Cancer Center.
